What is the Facebook Sales Channel?

Posted on

Shopify and Facebook have been pals for a while. The latest integration means you can easily link your Facebook business page with your Shopify store - helping direct more customers and upping your social selling game.

What's A Sales Channel?

Sales channels are all the places you sell your merch, including your online store. You can get better coverage by selling in popular places like Amazon, Facebook, Instagram etc.

The Facebook Sales Channel is one specifically designed to link with your Facebook business page. When someone sees your store on Facebook, they can browse through your whole selection without having to open up a new tab for your standalone website.

Why integrate Facebook with Shopify?

One of the best parts of integrating means that if you make a change in one place, it's automatically updated to the next. Changing a price, description or photo on one of your products? Do it straight in Shopify admin and it will update on your Facebook store. Any sales that happen through Facebook are updated automatically, and your Shopify Report will tell you which channel it came from.

Connect and Sell to Millions of Facebook Users

Shopify Facebook Sales Channel

Facebook is still the number one social media platform in terms of users, and many of them shop online through Facebook or use it find out about products they want. You can use your Facebook business page to interact with customers, sponsor products, and host a store.

When you launch an online marketing campaign through Facebook, you can sponsor products to be seen by people you think are interested. They can then go directly to your facebook page and shop there, or be directed to your standalone Shopify store.

Making payments through Facebook is secure, shoppers can save their payment information for future purchases. This is especially streamlined for paying using smartphones, as more and more people are doing.

Designed for Mobile

More than half a billion people access Facebook solely from a phone or tablet on the go. The new Facebook Shop has been optimised for mobile use, meaning it loads quickly and displays well.

Connect with Your Customers Instantly

This is a great step in the direction of conversational commerce. You can use Messenger chat to talk to your customers directly and help them find what they're looking for. Customers can buy directly through Messenger and track their orders.

In order to use Facebook Messenger for direct sales or create a ‘shoppable' Facebook Page, you have to have both a Shopify membership and a business Facebook Page.

Use Facebook for Marketing

You can boost your marketing by using Facebook targeted ads. Target customers according to location, age, gender and interests they've already expressed. Using the Facebook Sales Channel makes it one step easier to grab new customers.

Your Facebook business page is a great place to put announcements, product reviews and launches, or other relevant content that you think your customers would be interested in.

How Is This Different From The Facebook Store App I Already Use?

The current Facebook store app doesn't display on mobile phones, which is where most people are shopping on Facebook.

The sales channel also makes it so that your shop displays prominently on your landing page, rather than needing a separate tab. The Facebook shop also includes a subscribe button that lets you collect followers who will stay updated with any new products you add to your store.
