Shoppable Instagram Posts Now Available Internationally!

The wait is over! After its overwhelming success in the US last year, Instagram shopping is now expanding internationally to 44 countries.

With over 500 million users daily, Instagram works to connect consumers, influencers and brands. You can now connect your brand with your consumers on a whole new level, thanks to Instagram shopping. Instagram shopping allows merchants to tag products in their posts, taking the consumer from Instagram to your product page to make a purchase with a single tap.

Where is it available?

Shoppable Instagram posts are now available to merchants in the following countries:

USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Sweden, Netherlands, Argentina, Mexico, New Zealand, Switzerland, Puerto Rico, Ireland, South Africa, Belgium, Austria, Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay, Malta, Ecuador, Panama, Portugal, Poland, Greece, Cyprus, Denmark, Czech Republic, Romania, Norway, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Dominican Republic, and Belize.

How to start selling on Instagram

To be eligible to sell your products on Instagram, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:

  • Operate your business in a supported country (see the list above)
  • Ensure you have the Facebook Sales Channel installed on your Shopify store, with an approved Facebook Shop
  • Have an Instagram Business account (this can be set up once you have connected your Facebook page).

Once you’ve satisfied the above requirements, you’ll can simply add the Instagram sales channel to your Shopify store. It’s as easy as that!

There’s one final step: to officially enable Instagram shopping, head to Business Settings, then Shopping in the Instagram app. To view the full instructions, click here.

Voilà! You’re all done. You can now expand your audience reach and increase sales by tagging your products on Instagram!
